A Casa Loma wedding in Toronto with vintage charm and modern style

Casa Loma has room for a light, airy wedding aesthetic within its castle walls. In this Toronto setting, pale walls and pointed ceremony windows give way to dark wood and warm chandelier light. If you love the architecture but want some brightness in your wedding photographs, the difference between these interiors is part of the appeal.

A bright ceremony setting with modern flowers

A light palette can sit comfortably within Casa Loma's formal architecture. Pointed arched windows give the ceremony setting its height and shape, while white flowers and loose greenery soften the arrangement below. The room still feels like a castle, even with pale colours and contemporary floral design.

Overlapping white rectangular frames make that combination especially clear. Their straight edges sit against the arches, with leaves extending beyond the frames. The clean shapes give the flowers a modern setting while leaving the pointed windows visible above them.

The warmth of wood and chandelier light

The darker rooms have the appeal of an old house: wood panels, glass-fronted bookcases and warm chandelier light. If you prefer traditional interiors, these rooms may be as appealing as the brighter ceremony space. The dark wood makes the rooms feel enclosed, and the glow of the lights softens their formality.

Against the wood, the white dress and lace edge of the veil are especially clear. In the room with bookcases, the couple's raised hands and the turn of the bride's dress bring movement to the formal surroundings.

Our wedding work brings together this interest in the setting and the people within it.

Tall windows and a sense of scale

Part of the appeal of a castle wedding is remembering the scale of the place. Beneath Casa Loma's tall gridded windows, the couple stand close together and hold hands. The window wall gives the portrait its height, while their closeness keeps it personal.

If the building itself is part of why you want to marry here, there is value in leaving room for it in your portraits. The height of the windows can belong to your wedding memories alongside the smaller details of what you wore, such as a pearl earring or the sparkle of a shoe buckle.
